Cadillac kings (UK)

Music-Style: West Coast - Jump Blues

The Cadillac Kings were founded in 2000 in the London area.

Their musical experience brought the excellent musicians to the greats of the blues scene. They play in the bands of James Hunter, Ottis Grand, Paul Lambs Kingsnakes and the Big Joe Lewis Band.

In 2002 they released their debut album "Lou Ann". With great enthusiasm, the CD was immediately played by the radio stations and brought the band in 2001 an award for best blues act in England.

From then on, the award-winning Cadillac Kings were considered one of the top acts of the English Blues & Jump Jive scene. With their Blues, Boogie, Jump-Jive and Rock'n'Roll of the 50s, they thrill the audience in clubs and festivals across the UK, Europe and Scandinavia.

Singer, songwriter and front man Mike Thomas, who writes almost all of the band's material and combines them with an infallible joke of the 21st century for the vintage sound and the different style directions of the 40s and 50s playfully captures his audience.

"Mike's often hilarious lyrics are often reminiscent of Rick Estrin & Louis Jordan," wrote blues journalist Ken Peace in his Blues Arts Northwest blog.

"The band 's second CD" Highway 17 "was released on the UK Jazz & Roots label" 33 "Records in 2004. The music critics of the British newspaper" The Times "took" Highway 17 "alongside Morrissey' s albums, U2, the Scissor Sisters etc ., in their list of the top 24 releases of the year and selected the Longplayer as Best Blues CD After a wide airplay, the Cadillac Kings were invited to play live sessions for BBC Radio, Norwegian Television and Dutch Radio.

Since then, the band has performed in clubs and festivals across Europe and has performed for acts such as Lazy Lester, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Rod Plaza, Magic Slim, Lil 'Ed and His Blues Imperials, Louisiana Red, John Mayall, Sherman Robertson, Victor Wainwright Reba Russell, Larry Garner, Little Feat and Delbert McLinton are just a few.

One of the highlights of her career was the band's appearance at London's Royal Albert Hall. As well as co-headlining the huge Bliuzo Naktys Festival in Lithuania, where the band played in front of over 15,000 enthusiastic blues fans.

Their 2009 release, "Trouble in Store," garnered rave reviews from both sides of the Atlantic, including the title of "Best Non-American Blues Album of the Year" by Canada's top blues magazine "Real Blues"

In winter 2012, the first official live CD "Gonna Tell Your Momma" from Rune Halland appeared in Hamar, Norway. The album presented the true fun and excitement of a Cadillac Kings show with four individual vocalists and the best West Coast guitarist, Mal Barclay. The band also received unanimous positive reviews from Britain, the US and Europe.

Even her song "Betty Lou" shines with over 1 million Youtube calls!
