Music-Style: Blues - Memphis Soul
The story of Sugar Boy and the Sinners began three years ago in a smoky jazz club in their Dutch hometown Leiden.
During a late-night session, four young musicians decided to share their passion for old-school stuff from America: blues from Mississippi, soul from Memphis and funk from New Orleans. Their early, rock and roll enriched shows became the talk of the city.
It was not long before the rest of the world realized that.
In 2012 they won the prestigious Dutch Blues Challenge. They represented their country at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and the European Blues Challenge in Toulouse (France).
In no time, the band became one of the most sought after acts on blues, jazz and pop festivals in Germany and abroad.
The audience in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and the USA was soon enraptured by their energetic attitude towards what these musicians call "real". The unforgettable shows of Sugar Boy & The Sinners included concerts at world-famous festivals such as Moulin Blues (Netherlands) and Blues Peer (Belgium).
In 2014 the band released the much anticipated debut album "All You Can Eat". This album represents what these guys believe in: a raw sound, danceable grooves, and lots of energy.
The critics were in agreement: the album was nominated for the best blues album in the Netherlands and received rave reviews from Brazil to Japan.

But what makes Sugar Boy and Sinners really special is the way they get straight to the heart of their audience. The audience gets to dance with their explosive stage show. With drummer Frankie Duindam and Vinnie Guerin on slap bass form a twin-engine rhythm group that always rocks forward. Ronnie Guerin is the band's old school guitar slinger, whose playing style is admired by fans and guitar colleagues.
Frontman "Sugar" Boy Vielvoye adds his blue eyed soul vocals and steaming blues harmonica solos. In just three years, Sugar Boy and the Sinners became an integral part of the European music scene. But the mission of this band is far from achieved. They will simply not rest until all music lovers have experienced the music they believe in.
So join Sugar Boy & The Sinners and watch the show and see what it's all about!
